When the team of the Experimental Station of the Hawaiian Sugar Planters Association needed a break, they jumped into a putt-putt out of Honolulu and flew to Mapulehu, Molokai for fishing, BBQ, fresh fruit off the trees, beer, and hanging out in humble surroundings. Mapulehu is on the south side of the island, right on the ocean, along the Kamehameha Hwy.

The handwriting on the top slide (Kodak Stereo Viewer) is Lucette B. Mangelsdorf’s and the lower slide, in her distinctive turquoise ink, is Celeste’s (although from all the photos we’ve seen, these were “men only” retreats).
